Twenty Holmes County students impressed a large audience of over 100 guests Tuesday evening, May 23, 2013 at the Holmes County 4-H/Tropicana Public Speaking Contest as they competed for the County Winner title for their grade levels. Camp Timpoochee Orientation will be held Thursday, May 16th, from 6:00 -7:00 P.M. at the Holmes County Board of County Commissioners Building, located at 107 East Virginia Avenue, Bonifay, FL. This is MANDATORY for all campers and CIT/Counselors, new and returning!! We will review safety, camp rules, dress code, and answer any questions you may have before leaving for camp. See you all on the 16th!

CIT/Camp Counselor Training is Coming!

All CITs/Camp Counselors have MANDATORY Camp Counselor Training on Saturday, May 4, 2013 from 8:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. The training will be held at the EMS Building in Bonifay (the building behind the ambulance station and on the other side of the Farmers Market Buildings in relation to the Ag Center.) You will need to bring your own lunch to this meeting.

Our 4-Hers Love Earth Day!

Earth Day is officially April 22nd. Our United Clovers 4-H Cloverbuds decided to celebrate a little early with some dirt and birdseed! At our April 4-H Club Meeting, the United Clovers learned a lot about Earth Day and that we are the key to taking care of our environment. Cloverbuds learned that recycling can be fun and creative by making homemade birdseed feeders using toilet paper rolls, peanut butter, birdseed, and ribbon! To top off our afternoon of fun, we ate “dirt”! That’s right, dirt! Using crumbled oreo-type cookies, chocolate pudding and gummi worms, we made a dirt dessert that was out-of-this-Earth!
